About the School Age Immunisation Service
The School Age Immunisation Service (SAIS) delivers the NHS routine vaccination programme to school-age children across the South West of England, including Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, and Swindon.
Working in partnership with schools, we visit directly during the school day to offer vaccinations to children from Reception through to Year 11. Our experienced immunisation teams aim to make every visit safe, welcoming, and as straightforward as possible — for children, parents, and school staff alike.
What we do
As your regional School Age Immunisation Service, we coordinate and deliver the full range of NHS-scheduled school-age vaccinations, including the flu vaccine, HPV vaccine, MMR, MenACWY, and the DTP teenage booster. Vaccinations are offered at school during timed clinic visits, with consent collected from parents and carers in advance.
We also provide vaccination services for children outside of mainstream school, including those who are home educated, and run catch-up clinics for children who missed a scheduled appointment.
Who we work with
We work closely with schools, trusts, and local health teams across the South West to coordinate visit schedules and ensure every eligible child has access to their vaccinations. If you are a school administrator or PSHE lead you can contact us to fine out when visits are planned in your area.
